Clare's Story is a relatively new nuzlocke comic based on Pokemon Yellow Version. The story is based mainly upon game events and personalized flair. Rather than following the tale of a human trainer, Clare's Story follows the account of a young adult Pikachu gijinka named Clare Rodriguez who would rather pursue the title of Pokemon League Champion than go to college simply because the prospect seems "less comical". Clare's Story started on January 14th, 2013. It is still a new comic and expects to return to a scheduled update system in the summer of 2013.
- If a pokemon faints, it's dead. (It is placed into a graveyard box)
- Only one pokemon can be caught per route.
- Nickname EVERYTHING. (I nicknamed each pokemon by the first letter of its name)
- Potions are only allowed during event battles(Gary, gyms, the elite 4)
- No duplicates. A dupe may be avoided only ONCE, after that, you're out of luck.
- Legendaries may be caught, but can not be used in battle.
- If Clare dies, the run is over. :O
Clare is a Pikachu gijinka Fresh out of High School, and a black sheep in society. Her natural hair color is a striking blonde that consistently tapers at the ends. Clare regularly dyes and cuts her hair to disguise this abnormal feature, as well as hiding any of her gijinka attributes, making her appear more human than the average gijinka. She was adopted by Cecelia Rodriguez when she was ten years old, after wandering into Pallet town with no recollection of her past. She chooses to pursue a battling lifestyle rather than continue to pursue a worthless education. She considers it a worthless education because gijinka get none of the benefits and priviliges that humans get. Will Clare prove everyone wrong? Or will she succumb to the fate that many gijinka before her have met: failure?
Gary OakAs a college sophomore at Pallet Kanto University, Gary is unlike most gijinka. This Eevee fits in with humans, despite his tendency to show his gijinka features, and even disregards his own grandfather. He has always had an intense rivalry with Clare stemming from the fact that his grandfather seems to favor her over him. Despite his human friends in Pallet town, he is subject to the scrutiny of society as he sets out for the first time. He is also a skilled battler, despite advocating a college education towards Clare.
Relation to Team Rocket: [unknown as of current update]
Professor Samuel Oak
Professor Oak is a world-widely renown Jolteon professor who teaches at Pallet Kanto University and studies the physiology and biochemistry of gijinka. His extensive research has been partnered with that of Researcher Blaine Ignus and Dr. Hiroshi Fuji on the relationships between humans, gijinka, and pokemon alike. Out of his 'prime', he has hired Gary to help him with his studies. Despite Gary being his grandson, Professor Oak outwardly appears to favor Clare, perhaps because they share types(electric). Overall, he is a highly-regarded man with high hopes for both Clare and Gary.
